A growing Bristol based firm of chartered accountants has a requirement for a Corporate Tax Manager to join their successful corporate tax team as a key addition. You will have opportunity to manage the delivery of wide ranging, complex compliance and planning projects to your clients within this growing business, with clear progression on offer. Client Details Based in Bristol this leading regional firm of chartered accountants is undergoing continued growth and planning for the ongoing future success and growth of its business. Due to new organic client growth there is a clear need to invest and further develop their corporate tax team to take full advantage of the firms ongoing success. Description Joining as Corporate Tax Manager based in the firms Bristol offices you will develop a key managerial level role supporting the leadership team on delivering complex compliance and tax planning to a wide ranging portfolio of OMBs and larger groups, corporates and other clients. You will manage the wider team and play a key role in helping in their development, reviewing work and supporting the team with their ongoing development. You will take on the responsibility for a portfolio of clients and look to lead on the delivery of planning and tax advisory work across project work such as providing sale and buy-side tax advice and support working alongside the corporate finance team on corporate reconstructions, demergers, reorganisations and sale transactions, along with advising on wider planning work across capital allowances, R&D and other project work Profile For this Corporate Tax Manager role you will be any of ACCA, ACA, ATT, CTA qualified, with a career background developed within corporate tax and your experience will have been developed within any of Top 4, Top 10 or Top 50 firm environment, or independent accounting firm of any size. You will have developed to around the managerial levels and you will be looking for a role and environment where you can develop technically and progress with a clear route on offer to achieve your career goals within a growing accountancy practice. Job Offer Circa £55,000 - £70,000 dependent on the background experience and level of the right professional, plus benefits, negotiable. Account Manager The Role To manage the day-to-day client administration, preparation, and coordination of client accounts, acting as reliable and professional operational contact for clients and an effective contributor to the wider practice team. The role ensures work is delivered accurately, on time, and in line with professional and internal standards, while supporting client satisfaction and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Client Delivery & Administration Prepare accounts, personal and corporation tax returns, VAT returns, in accordance with current legislation and practice procedures. Act as a day-to-day point of contact for allocated clients, maintaining professional and timely communication. Liaise with administration team and clients to request, receive, and clarify books, records, and supporting information. Respond to clients confidently and accurately, escalating complex or sensitive matters appropriately. Maintain strong client relationships through clear communication, reliability, and a solutions-focused approach. Workflow & Time Management Manage assigned jobs to ensure deadlines are met, updating workflow systems accurately and in a timely manner. Monitor progress against engagement proposal and flag potential overruns or risks early. Provide time sheets in a timely manner for ad hoc work to be billed appropriately. Prioritise workload effectively in line with practice deadlines and client commitments. Quality & Compliance Ensure all work is prepared in line with accounting standards, tax legislation, and internal checklists. Take ownership of the accuracy, completeness, and presentation of assigned work before review. Address review points promptly and apply learning to future work to reduce rework. Team Support & Collaboration Support Senior Accountants, Senior Account Managers, and Client Managers with accounts preparation and reviews. Share knowledge and best practice with colleagues, contributing to continuous improvement. Provide informal guidance to junior team members where appropriate. Systems & Process Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within practice management and accounting systems. Use cloud accounting software efficiently (e.g. Xero), supporting digital workflows and paperless processes. Adhere to internal policies, procedures, and data protection requirements at all times. Authority & Accountability Accountable for the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of assigned client work. Authorised to communicate directly with clients on routine matters within agreed scope.
