We are recruiting for a Family Legal Secretary to provide dedicated secretarial and administrative support to a Fee Earner within a well-established Family Law department. This is a great opportunity for someone with previous legal secretarial experience who enjoys a varied role, regular client contact and being an integral part of a supportive legal team. The Role As Family Legal Secretary, you will provide comprehensive support across a varied caseload of family law matters, including: Divorce and financial settlements Children and child arrangements matters Cohabitation and separation agreements Injunctions and domestic abuse matters Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Audio typing and transcription of digital dictation Preparing correspondence, court documents and other legal documentation Managing diaries, appointments and deadlines Handling telephone and email enquiries professionally and sensitively Assisting with new client onboarding and ID checks Preparing and organising court bundles Opening, maintaining and closing client files Assisting with billing and administrative processes Providing general secretarial and administrative support to the Fee Earner About You We are looking for someone who has: Previous experience working as a Legal Secretary within a law firm Family Law experience would be highly advantageous Fast and accurate audio typing skills Strong Microsoft Office skills Excellent organisation and attention to detail Confident written and verbal communication skills A professional and empathetic approach to client care The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy legal environment Experience using Proclaim case management software would be desirable but is not essential, as training can be provided.
