The Role As an AMHP, you will undertake statutory duties under the Mental Health Act and provide expert professional leadership in complex mental health situations. Key responsibilities include: Undertaking Mental Health Act assessments and coordinating duties under the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended). Making independent decisions regarding applications for detention where appropriate. Ensuring the least restrictive and most appropriate interventions are considered at all times. Working in partnership with individuals, families, carers, health professionals, and partner agencies. Undertaking complex risk assessments and contributing to crisis intervention planning.
