THE ROLE Interesting and varied Toolroom machinist's role with this respected special purpose machinery manufacturer. BPA operates a CNC machine shop producing high-precision aerospace tooling, and ground support equipment components and assemblies, to tight tolerances and strict quality standards. We supply Leonardo Helicopters and GKN Aerospace - customers whose requirements leave no room for error. You should have a good cross section of CNC Machining experience to include Milling, turning, programming (Siemens and Fanuc controls), and ideally grinding. The role will involve prototype and small batch machining of parts and creating jigs and fixtures. Any offline CAD/CAM experience will also be an advantage (PowerMill exp beneficial but can cross train). You will perform inspection of parts and general basic upkeep of the machines. Quality, consistency, and attention to detail are non-negotiable. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Set up and operate CNC milling and/or turning machines (3-axis and above) to produce components from engineering drawings. Work to tight tolerances and aerospace quality standards (AS9100 environment). Carry out in-process inspection using standard metrology equipment (verniers, micrometers, CMM as appropriate). Please note: you must be authorised to work in the UK Our client is a growing bespoke engineering and manufacturing company supplying specialist equipment to customers. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an organised, reliable and proactive Stores & Yard Operative to join the team. Working within a small stores environment, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the goods-in, stores and yard areas, ensuring materials, components, PPE and consumables are received, stored and distributed efficiently. This is a varied role and would suit someone who enjoys working in a practical engineering environment and is able to work independently, take ownership and keep things organised. The Role Your responsibilities will include: Receiving and checking incoming deliveries Checking quantities and condition of goods against delivery documentation Booking goods into the stock control system Organising and maintaining the goods-in area Preparing and packaging items for dispatch Arranging and assisting with collections and deliveries Maintaining stock levels of PPE, consumables and general stores items Loading and unloading vehicles Moving materials around the site Maintaining an organised, clean and safe yard Identifying and reporting shortages, damaged goods or discrepancies Supporting the production and engineering teams with material requirements General stores and yard duties as required The ability to read and understand basic engineering drawings would be advantageous, as the role may involve identifying engineering components, materials and parts.
