The post holder has a general duty to ensure that there is no harm to employees. Contractors, customers or the public. Principal Accountabilities Adhere to health and safety and local safety policy requirements, and other safety and technical standards. Comply with all instructions, rules and regulations in force. Maintain, service, fault find and repair locomotives in accordance with the approved maintenance plans as required by the local manager. Ensure all relevant paperwork for examinations and repairs is correctly completed on time and to required company standards. Ensure that materials issued to locomotives and wagons are recorded and reported accurately. Take due care and attention to all tools and instrumentation used. Participate in all relevant training and competency assessment that the post holder is nominated for. Repair and commission all plant and equipment as required from time to time. Assist in the upkeep of maintenance vehicle history files either electronically or hard copies. Assist Team Leaders (under their direction) as required during maintenance and repair of Locomotives. Attend safety/quality and technical briefings as required. Be prepared to work in the areas of necessity to alleviate pressure, under the guidance of suitably qualified staff. Undertake general duties relative to cleanliness of workshop areas, mess room, toilets etc. as required. Assist as required by your immediate line manager. Experience & Knowledge Requirements: At least 3 years broadly based experience of motor vehicle/HGV/Agricultural and Military vehicles plus/or ideally, Traction & Rolling Stock, including maintenance, repair and fault finding both electrically and mechanically This would suit an aspiring Auto Electrician looking to transfer their skills to the Rail Industry we are looking for Elec/Mech's on a 60:40 ratio The role will entail the removal of components before carrying out modifications to looms and installation of new electrical components before testing The role will be based on a 12-13 week turnaround of each locomotive, working to key deadlines and KPI's The ability to make sound engineering decisions. Basic communication skills, written & oral. Qualifications and Training A minimum of NVQ Level 3/or equivalent in an engineering or technical discipline Successful candidates will be required to undertake a Safety Critical Rail related Medical and Drug & Alcohol check plus a basic Security clearance check. Park & Play Infrastructure Supervisor Location: Bromley Borough, reporting to High Elms Country Park Salary: 30,000 Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:30pm About the role The Parks & Play Infrastructure Supervisor plays a key operational and supervisory role within the Parks Development Team. The postholder will lead a small reactive repairs team responsible for addressing health & safety (H&S) and security priorities across parks and open spaces. This is a hands-on supervisory role, requiring both leadership and active participation in repair and maintenance works, particularly relating to play infrastructure, street furniture, and small-scale construction. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Supervision: managing a small reactive response repairs team, through providing daily direction and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard, and through training of staff. Health & Safety Compliance: ensure Health and Safety is prioritised for both staff and the public at all times, through Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), COSHH assessments, PPE checks and audits. Operations & Reactive Maintenance: respond to priorities raised through public reporting system, orchestrating and conducting regular site inspections across parks, supervising and undertaking maintenance & repairs of park infrastructure and play equipment, and ensuring jobs are delivered using safe, cost-effective and efficient methods. Project Co-ordination & Stakeholder Management: liaise with subcontractors to obtain quotes, assist in co-ordination of and updating on small-scale projects, and communicate effectively with Council Officers, Friends Groups and contractors through in-person, email and phone. Administration & Compliance: maintain accurate records including equipment logs, stock, timesheets, absences, and HAV records, ensuring all documentation (RAMS, reports, audits) is up to date, and working closely with the Administration Team and Park Engagement Co-ordinators. What We're Looking For Essential Skills & Experience Full UK Driving Licence. Proven experience supervising multi-disciplinary teams across concurrent projects. Experience quoting soft and hard landscaping works up to circa 15,000. Strong practical knowledge of street furniture repairs and small-scale construction works.
