Building Surveyor Gosport 33 per hour (PAYE) 37.04 per hour (CIS) Contract expected to run until June 2026 You will be based at our Gosport Town Hall within a Property Services team reporting to the Senior Building Surveyor. You will carry out a wide range of duties across our varied 3,000+ housing stock, together with our asset portfolio of corporate operational, commercial and community assets. You will predominantly be attending day to day repairs, updating stock data, evaluating and diagnosing what work is required, assessing the best options to carry out the work and issuing response repairs Requirements: Be able to demonstrate sufficient relevant experience and knowledge of general day to day response repairs in a housing or commercial environment. Have good building construction technology and building pathology knowledge together with the ability to evaluate and diagnose what work is required, assess the best options to carry out the work and issuing response repairs and advising others. Have a knowledge of building related legislation as appropriate to the role and be able to apply as necessary. Have knowledge and experience of construction-related health & safety legislation knowledge generally and be able to apply specifically the working at Height Regulations, and Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. Practical surveying skills that can be demonstrated; specifically, be able to carry out stock data and measured surveys, accurately recording stock data as appropriate. Demonstrating you can manage a contractor using a contract, negotiate contractual matters and resolution of disputes with contractors. Have knowledge and experience of cost control techniques and be able to demonstrate commercial awareness when undertaking cost estimates for larger repair work, exercise financial control when managing work and assess value for money for work undertaken when auditing completed repairs. Demonstrate analytical skills to be able to interrogate, analyse and evaluate previous repair information Additional: The post holder will be required to hold a full current driving licence and have a car available; essential car user allowance will be paid whilst the duties of the post justify it. The Role We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of one or more construction projects from pre-construction through to handover. You will be responsible for the safe, timely, and cost-effective execution of projects, working closely with site teams, consultants, and clients to ensure that all works meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. This role requires excellent leadership, commercial awareness, and communication skills, along with a proven ability to manage complex construction programmes and multi-disciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities Lead the full project lifecycle from mobilisation to completion Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, and resource plans Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, consultants, and supply chain partners Ensure all health, safety, quality, and environmental standards are met and exceeded Manage client and stakeholder relationships, acting as primary point of contact Review and approve RAMS, design documentation, and construction methodologies Oversee project reporting, progress updates, and risk management processes Chair site and progress meetings, driving accountability and resolution of issues Work with commercial teams to manage variations, valuations, and project costs Ensure quality control processes are maintained and oversee snagging and close-out Support and mentor Site Managers and Assistant Site Managers as required Requirements Essential: Proven experience as a Project Manager for a main contractor (Tier 1 or 2) Track record of delivering projects from start to finish across relevant sectors Strong commercial, contractual, and technical knowledge Excellent planning, leadership, and communication skills SMSTS certification CSCS card (Black Management level) First Aid at Work Full UK driving licence Desirable: HNC/HND or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or similar Experience with NEC or JCT contracts Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) or Awareness certification NVQ Level 6/7 in Construction Project Management Fire Marshall, Asbestos Awareness, and other relevant certifications What We Offer Opportunity to deliver varied and high-profile projects across your region A supportive, dynamic working environment Clear career progression and development opportunities Ongoing training and CPD Competitive salary and benefits package Long-term career stability with a reputable contractor

We're working with a very well known manufacturing facility in Ashford, Kent. The successful lead sign fitter applicant will have a wealth of knowledge working within in the sign industry from installing totems, flex face signs, built up letters, fascia signs, LED's and cabling, vinyl application of digitally printed graphics, brick vinyl & carrying out site surveys. The position will require working Nationwide with overnight stays as well as occasional weekend or night work. You will need a positive aptitude for hands on work with a strong desire to work within a team and be able to assist others as and when required. You should be self-motivated and driven individuals, dynamic, versatile, extremely efficient, a team player and a good all-rounder. Health and Safety exposure and ability to maintain a clean and tidy environment at all times is key. You will need a technical mind and the ability to work with our existing sign crews and production staff to achieve high quality installations that our clients demand. Key responsibilities: Sign installation, maintaining stock levels and vehicle inspections, checking tools, ability to read and understand technical drawings, various H&S paperwork, training of fitters mate, time keeping, liaising with Project Managers and Site Managers, day to day running a crew.
