We are looking to recruit a Kitchen Assistant to join our outstanding Catering team. The Kitchen Assistant will be responsible to the Head Chef and will work in liaison with the wider Catering team to ensure efficient running of service. The postholder will be responsible for preparation of food service areas for lunch and evening meals, this will also include preparing salad bars, sandwich lunches and birthday parties as requested. They will also be required to prepare, cook certain food items both under the direction of the Chef and or as per directed by our Dieticians. In addition to the above, the postholder will need to adhere to the weekly cleaning schedule, ensuring a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness at all times. There will also be occasions when you may be required to work in the Dining area to support the Catering team. This role will include a combination of 7.00am - 15.00pm and 11.45am - 19.45pm shifts on weekdays, as well as from 10.00am to 18.00pm alternate weekends. The successful candidate will be able to work in a physically demanding and busy environment. Experience of working in a kitchen/catering setting is desirable but full training will be provided.
