We are seeking 2 Electrical Maintenance Engineers to join a leading FMCG manufacturing business in Ellesmere Port, the hiring manager is looking for someone who is Electrically biased and either holds their 18th Edition, or a minimum of a Level 3 Engineering qualification (preferably a HNC or equivalent) in either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. The hiring manager is predominantly looking for someone who has come from an FMCG manufacturing environment (Food Manufacturing, Packaging, Print, Pharmaceutical or Plastics), however, they may still consider people from other industries providing you have the relevant experience within Electrical Maintenance Engineering. This job will be working 4 on 4 off shifts (2 days and 2 nights as part of your 4 on), and the annual salary for this role is paying up to £58,000 per annum (DOE), with overtime opportunities also available. We are looking for someone who can fault find competently on PLCs and has both Electrical & Mechanical capabilities. What You Will Do: Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental standards, promoting a culture of zero harm and safe working practices. Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programmes to minimise downtime and optimise equipment performance. Troubleshoot equipment and process issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to improve operational efficiency. Collaborate with the production team to ensure maintenance and changeover tasks are completed within agreed timeframes. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, using tools and techniques such as 5S, TPM, and Kaizen to enhance processes and equipment performance. Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and ensure the proper segregation of waste from engineering activities. What You Will Bring: NVQ Level 3 / HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance, with a solid foundation in multi-disciplined skills. Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities, with experience in PLC diagnostics and ladder logic. Proficiency in reading complex electrical and engineering drawings. Demonstrated commitment to safety and implementing equipment improvements. Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to teamwork and continuous improvement.
