The Role Our work is predominantly refurbishment across multiple sectors, and we typically run a number of projects at any one time. This role would suit someone who is organised, commercially aware, and confident managing several live tenders simultaneously. You will take ownership of projects from initial enquiry through to final tender submission and handover to the delivery team. Responsibilities Reviewing tender documentation and assessing project scope Ensuring all relevant information is available to price projects accurately Attending site visits and pre-tender meetings with clients Carrying out detailed take-offs Producing Bills of Quantities (BQs) Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations Analysing subcontractor returns to ensure compliance and best value Identifying and capturing risks within the pricing Clearly setting out clarifications and exclusions Preparing comprehensive cost plans and presenting them to management for sign-off Managing and tracking multiple refurbishment tenders at the same time Working closely with colleagues, clients, contractors, suppliers and the design team throughout the tender process Supporting smooth handover of secured projects to the operations team About You Proven experience in estimating within a refurbishment environment Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and schedules Solid knowledge of measurement and take-off processes Ability to manage workload across multiple live tenders Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Proficient in estimating software and Excel Knowledge of Microsoft project What We Offer 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays Pension Scheme Enrolment Onsite parking Private Medical Care Why Axis CLC? Role Purpose We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function across our portfolio of social housing maintenance, repairs and refurbishment contracts. The role will oversee end to end commercial management, ensuring robust cost control, compliance, profitability, and strong client partnerships across long term frameworks and responsive maintenance projects. Candidate Requirement - Qualifications Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or equivalent professional experience (Highly Desirable) Candidate Requirement - Experience Proven background as a Commercial Manager, Estimator, Senior QS or Managing QS within social housing maintenance, repairs or refurbishment. Strong understanding of SOR, PPM, responsive repairs and term maintenance contracts. Experience managing commercial performance across multiple live projects. Knowledge of JCT and NEC contract forms. Strong commercial acumen with excellent analytical and financial reporting capability. Confident communicator with strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills. Role: Estimator (Property Services) Location: Home based with access to regional offices Salary: up to 90k plus package and benefits Howells Solutions are working with a leading National Contractor to recruit a Estimator to take responsibility for pricing winning planned maintenance / decent homes tenders for housing associations, local councils and RSL's. Working alongside the Bid Team and Commercial team, you will manage the pricing programme on multiple bids, working to the individual timescale required of each bid. My client will also consider Assistant Estimators looking for the next step in their career or Quantity Surveyors looking to move into Estimating. Estimator Responsibilities: Undertake the preparation of tenders/bids/budget proposals allocated by the Head of Bids & Commercial Director for presentation to the relevant directors for final settlement. Provide all information necessary for inclusion within the written bid submission. Liaise with subcontractors/suppliers to obtain competitive/accurate quotations for specialist elements of the works. Visit prospective projects to verify information contained within clients contract documentation and obtain any further information required to produce the tender. Liaise with the Programme Manager to ensure all necessary information is provided for the production of the final tender programme. Attend pre-contract handover meetings, all necessary bid meetings and client meetings as requested throughout the tender process.
