Conduct daily duties in a safe working manner whilst adhering to QHSE obligations under the Health and Safety at work Act1974 and follow the code of safe working practice in your workplace, Attend all toolbox task and safety briefs Wear company issued PPE Conduct before use checks on all tools, lifting equipment, access equipment and vehicles. Quarantine and report defective equipment. Report any unsafe acts, hazards, defective equipment to your supervisor and maintain a safe working environment at all times Keep your work area free from hazards Inspect and service all vehicles, plant and equipment in line with OEM minimum standards Carry out vehicle safety inspection in line with group fleet policy Maintain, prepare and present vehicles for annual MOT testing at specified DVSA approved ATF Complete all aspects of vehicle inspection documentation in line with group fleet compliance policy Complete technical training when required Complete job cards and associated paperwork in a timely manner. Be able to work as part of a team and on own initiative What we're looking for; Essential: City & Guilds or NVQ level 3 in HGV Engineering or equivalent. Good communication skills. Ability to work as part of a team and individually. Ability to work under pressure and actively seek solutions to problems. Flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks. Thorough Knowledge of current HGV MOT regulations and standards. Driving Licence. Desirable: IRTEC Licence. Waste/RCV vehicle experience. Electrical/Hydraulic/ Pneumatic experience. HGV Driving Licence (Vocational entitlement attracts an additional 50p per hour). Welding/fabrication skills. Forklift licence (Counterbalance).
