What you'll do Avionics System Development Support the development of flight deck avionics system architectures. Assist in defining system functions, interfaces, and requirements. Develop and agree use cases to validate system behaviour and requirements Support development of system models to define architecture and interfaces. Support troubleshooting and resolution of integration issues. What you'll bring Bachelor's or master's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, systems, or a related field. Additional training in systems engineering or human factors is a plus. 1-2 years of relevant industry experience. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Confident communicator with the ability to clearly explain technical topics and work effectively with engineers, pilots, suppliers, and cross-functional teams. Proficiency in systems engineering tools and methodologies. Familiarity with ARP4761, ARP4754 and DO-160. Experience with Product Lifecycle Management systems. System Engineer - CCSDS & LunaNet (LLD Focus) Overview We are seeking a System Engineer with strong CCSDS and LunaNet experience to support the detailed design and implementation of space communication architectures . The role focuses on low-level system design, interface definition, and protocol implementation , rather than high-level architecture. Key Responsibilities Develop Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation for space communication systems. Implement and define interfaces aligned with CCSDS standards . Support LunaNet-compatible architecture and protocol implementation . Define detailed message flows, protocol stacks, and interface control documents (ICDs) . Work with software, network and flight/ground segment teams to ensure interoperability and standards compliance . Support system integration, verification and validation activities. Your role as a Sensor Fusion Lead will involve architecting, designing, implementing and testing embedded applications primarily focused around sensor suite integration and fusion. You may also lead a small team of other engineers. Tasks will generally involve architecting software systems and features that facilitate our state of the art methods for navigation in a variety of environments using our in-house fleet of UAVs. Key Responsibilities: Primarily, your role will be to maintain, architect and develop our current sensor fusion capabilities and add new features in a structured and maintainable manner under direction of product owner (Head of Digital Systems). Technically lead the software development for Sensor Fusion activities to deliver new features and capabilities to our Autonomy and UAV systems. Salary: £24,300 What you'll be doing: As a Undergraduate you'll will work with the team making recommendations about electronic product content for avionics systems, optimise hardware and software design concepts, and develop sophisticated design processes and test complex products. Gaining exposure to the entire project lifecycle, you'll play a key role in both maintaining our existing systems and developing new technologies. • Assessment of equipment behaviour and fault diagnosis. • Assessment of new technologies and components. • Conducting laboratory tests and capturing data. • Circuit / firmware simulation and modelling. • Data analysis. • Preparation of technical reports.
