Description Length of placement: 12 Months Job Title: Undergraduate Electronic Systems Test Systems Engineer Location: Rochester (Kent) We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however for this role you will be expected to attend your site 4 days per week. Salary: £24,300 What you'll be doing: • All aspects of product development engineering, from requirements, through design and implementation to test and release. • Working will include SW development using Labview and TestStand toolsets, but also bespoke internal test development tools. • Supporting aspects of the Hardware deployment solution. • Supporting detailed integration to prove the Test Systems, allowing test of Prime Hardware, throughout development and production. Working in an established team as a Test Development Engineer you'll be creating and maintaining small to medium-sized automated test systems. You'll be responsible for the development and implementation of test strategies and, where appropriate, influencing our product through 'Design for Test'. This involves creating test strategy documents, designing Interchangeable Test Adaptors (including both mechanical and electrical elements) and software development of automated test sequences in accordance with a test specification. You'll also have the opportunity to get involved with continuous improvement activities and the development of new technologies What we're looking for from you: Sound understanding of fundamental analogue and digital circuit design. Experience of creating and using technical documentation and Drawings i.e. Schematics, PCB layouts, Engineering Drawings. Significant experience creating Automated Test Equipment. Experience of using NI LabVIEW and/or TestStand preferable. Experience in Boundary Scan / XJTAG preferable. Strong problem solving skills with an exceptional eye for detail. Strong analytical skills and passion for driving continuous improvement, with six sigma experience desirable.
