DUE TO COMPANY GROWTH PLANS,OUR CLIENT IS LOOKING FOR A GRADUATE ELECTRONIC HARDWARE DESIGN ENGINEER TO WORK IN A BUSY, DYNAMIC ENVIRONMENT IN OUR OFFICES IN ASH VALE, SURREY. The role will involve working within the engineering side of the business which will include design and development work, product testing and manufacturing support activities. You will be working closely with a team of senior engineer and engineering technicians. Although the ability to self-manage is important, the senior engineers will support and mentor a successful candidate to allow them to grow and develop into the role. Beneficial Technical Skills Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, skills to be able to write test plans against formal product requirements to allow product compliance to be demonstrated. Mechanical assembly skills to be able to assist in the build and development of prototype products and test samples/bespoke test equipment. Understanding of, or willingness to learn, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) design principles with the ability to consider EMC during system and sub-assembly design. A basic awareness of RF engineering may be of benefit in this respect although is not expected. Attributes needed Ability to adopt existing design processes/systems and provide input into developing existing processes. Ability to work independently, managing own time relative to the project time frames, as part of a dynamic and flexible multi-disciplinary team working of a variety of projects at any one time. Be adaptable to work both in a structured, pre-planned, work environment yet be able to effectively switch to reactive tasks, such as production support and failure investigations, when required. A successful candidate will be keen to progress and build a successful career from the role. Core Technical Requirements: Relevant 2:1 or higher degree in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent qualification). Relevant industry experience either following qualification or as a placement year during education. Practical electronics skills, including fine-pitch surface mount soldering and knowledge of general test equipment applications and use. Demonstrate an understanding of measurement and data acquisition techniques, to enable the candidate to select and apply appropriate test methods and equipment set ups to perform the required testing activities. Experience in prototyping, debugging and functional test of electronic systems. Ability to work from preprepared test specification and method to perform black box product testing as part of system qualification. Able to clear interpret and present test data to show compliance against a test plan. Demonstrate and understanding of analogue and digital components and circuit design theory knowledge to understand electronic assemblies at component level. Ability to work from preprepared test specification and method to perform PCB component level testing of sub-assemblies as part of formal product qualification Experience working with product specification and product standards such as EN, IEC, BS, Def-Stan and MIL-STD.
