If you're a Private Client solicitor who takes real pride in technical excellence and truly values long-term client relationships, this is a rare opportunity to join a firm that has built its entire reputation on exceptional private client work. This is a firm where private client isn't a side department - it's the cornerstone of the business. The quality of advice, depth of expertise and absolute commitment to client care have resulted in something almost unheard of in today's market: zero staff turnover within the Private Client team. That speaks volumes. Lawyers stay because the work is interesting, the culture is supportive and the standards are high. Clients stay because the service is personal, meticulous and trusted across generations. The team is now looking to appoint an experienced Associate to join its established and highly regarded Private Client practice. The client base is diverse and often complex, meaning the work is far from routine. You will advise on all aspects of private client matters, alongside related tax issues, and have the opportunity to deepen your expertise within a specialist and collaborative environment. The caseload is broad and intellectually engaging. You will draft Wills, administer executries including complex tax-paying estates, and advise on sophisticated tax planning matters with a particular focus on Inheritance Tax and reliefs such as APR and BPR. You will be involved in the creation and ongoing management of trusts, advising on technical trust law and asset protection structures. There will also be scope to advise on more complex and occasionally contentious executry and trust matters, as well as Powers of Attorney and Guardianships. This is a role for someone who enjoys responsibility. You will be confident running your own caseload and acting as a trusted adviser to clients, while also collaborating with colleagues on larger or more intricate matters where teamwork enhances the outcome. The firm values initiative and encourages its lawyers to contribute to the continued success and growth of the team, including involvement in business development and marketing activity. Candidates with at least five years' PQE in private client work are particularly encouraged to apply, although those with slightly different backgrounds but strong relevant experience will also be considered. The position is full-time, but the firm is open-minded and pragmatic when it comes to flexible and part-time working arrangements - reflecting its mature and people-focused culture. For a Private Client solicitor who cares deeply about quality, values continuity of relationships and wants to be part of a stable, high-performing and genuinely supportive team, this is an exceptional opportunity. For a confidential conversation, please contact Neil at QED Legal.
