Overview and Responsibilities SENCO - Aurora Linemere Location : Backwell, North Somerset Contract Type : Full-time/Permanent Hours : 40 hours per week Salary : £32,916 - £49,232 (M1 - UPS2) Start Date: August 2026 Aurora Linemere is opening its doors in Autumn 2026 , and we're looking for an experienced SENCO to help make this vision a reality. This is a rare opportunity to be part of something truly transformative. Aurora Linemere will be a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious school for children and young people aged 5-19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. With a capacity of 96 students, our vision is to create a safe, enriching and aspirational environment where every learner can thrive. As Linemere is a new school in the development stage, visits aren't possible at the moment, but if you would like informal chat with our Operations Director; please email our Recruitment Partner: The role: As SENCO , you'll play a central role in shaping our SEND provision and ensuring every pupil's EHCP outcomes are delivered and tracked. Working closely with the Head of School, you'll oversee interventions, staff training, and the development of strategies that make a real difference to our learners. Your responsibilities will include: Managing referrals and the pre-admission process in partnership with our Business Development team and families. Leading on SEND policy and provision, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met. Coordinating and deploying resources, staff, and therapies to meet individual needs. Preparing for and participating in annual reviews and case conferences. Driving best practice through CPD, mentoring, and coaching staff. Supporting the Head of School with strategic development and school improvement plans. This is a leadership role where you'll influence the culture and success of our school from day one. You'll have: Essential Qualifications QTS or equivalent. SENCO qualification. Essential Experience Minimum of 3 years' effective experience as a SENCO, ideally in an SEN environment. Leadership of a significant area or phase or inclusion, including responsibility for raising standards across the whole school. Effective team management and collaborative working. Strong communication skills across a range of audiences and mediums. Successful management of complex scenarios and conflict resolution.
