Senior Quantity Surveyor Cambridge based 62K+ package We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading contractor based in Cambridge, who are currently enjoying a substantial period of growth due to recent contract wins. This role is working on planned maintenance and retrofit refurbishments within Social Housing, on behalf of Local Authority and Housing Association clients. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will take responsibility, ownership and accountability of the successful management of the commercial / financial and contractual elements of projects. You will control and maximise the company's profitability, protect the company's legal and contractual obligations under the contract and manage all day to day commercial issues. Senior Quantity Surveyor Key responsibilities: Provide commercial expertise to contracts, to include the production and submission of valuations, claims, budget monitoring, and contract/work-stream performance data Support the authorisation and submission of project variations. Senior Consultant - Senior Quantity Surveyor (Hybrid, £55-75k) We're looking for an experienced Senior Consultant - Senior Quantity Surveyor (SQS) to join a dynamic consultancy team. This hybrid role offers a salary of £55,000-£75,000 and the chance to work on high-profile, complex projects that are driving change across the built environment. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity, combining commercial strategy, cost management, and client advisory. You'll support the delivery of diverse projects, including refurbishment, decarbonisation, retrofit, energy-saving programmes, M&E replacements, high-rise schemes, and other large-scale initiatives. What You'll Do Provide expert commercial knowledge and support across multiple projects. Lead on the implementation of commercial controls and reporting mechanisms. Strong background in social housing maintenance contracts and design management. Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills. Confident in negotiation and stakeholder engagement. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint). A self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Professional, adaptable, and solution-focused. Desirable Skills Experience with decarbonisation, retrofit, and planned/reactive works. Familiarity with NEC, JCT, TAC/TPC contracts. Advanced Excel or Power BI skills (Power Query, M Query, DAX). Your new role Assistant Quantity Surveyor required to support the financial and commercial management of a repairs and refurbishment contract, forming part of a wider planned works programme. In this role, you'll work closely with the Lead Quantity Surveyor to ensure effective cash flow management. This includes preparing and submitting applications, managing certifications and invoicing, and overseeing timely payments. You'll also assist in the careful administration of subcontractor accounts, helping to maintain strong commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
