SQL Server DBA - Insurance - London, City. Our client, a leading Specialty Insurer based in the City of London, urgently requires an experienced SQL Server DBA to join their busy team. As SQL Server DBA you will work on a number of projects across Disaster Recovery, Resiliency Plans, Backups, Data Disaster, support Production teams, SQL upgrades etc. This is a contract to perm role due to urgency, and is hybrid with 3 days a week onsite in London. ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: 6+years experience as a SQL Server DBA and strong knowledge of database design, database layout, database structures, stored procedures, database tables, database optimisation, TCP/IP, IT Security concepts and practices; Experience with Always On configuration, Log Shipping, SQL Audits, SQL Agent Jobs, SQL replication, and CMS are critical; Experience with SQL Query Store, Resource Governor, sp_whoisactive, SQL Server Maintenance solution and sp_Blitz; Ability to analyse and write business and technical specifications and interact with IT and Audit teams; Clear understanding of IT Operations, Software Development and Release Management using GitHub; Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, and not afraid to take the initiative, and work with little supervision; Previous Insurance/Financial Services experience; and Experience of Oracle RDBMS and Datadog experience is a plus.
