What the role entails Making arrangements with the customer to carry out their technical survey in line with our survey completion targets Travelling within the region to undertake the customer's survey following our high standards, to ensure accurate measurements and drawings are provided in line with our Right first time, methodology Confirm with the customer all details and designs ordered are suitable, ensuring they are happy to proceed and have a full understanding of what they have ordered as well as offering solutions where applicable. Liaise with the wider Anglian team reporting any discrepancies or changes which need to be made after surveying the customers property Input survey details onto the survey network and order materials as required Dealing with any issues or changes that may occur in a timely manner What we Need Customer Focus, with excellent people and communication skills NVQ level 3 in Surveying or equivalent experience of surveying in the window and door industry Previous experience or equivalent qualification, of installing uPVC products Proficient IT Skills including Microsoft Office Ability to multi task, organise and good problem solver Full driving licence What we Offer Competitive salary and bonus. We are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to work within the surveying department of a busy, well respected and strong performing curtain wall, window and door sub-contractor based in Cardiff. They have projects locally as well as other areas of Wales, South West and slightly further afield, with both repeat business and new clients. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out the following as part of their role: Responsibilities: Attend pre-let meetings with main contractors to get an overview of projects and advise of items to raise Review contract documentation and negotiate terms with clients Issue monthly valuations for projects to main contractors, where possible by visiting site to meet with main contractors to build/enhance relationships Price/assist to price variations on projects Liaise with sub-sub-contractors working for projects, including reviewing and authorising valuations issued Ensure payments are received and are made on time Settling Final Accounts on projects Request release of retention's from main contractors when they are due Reporting to the Commercial Director including providing information for reporting to the Board of Directors Take a proactive approach to help the company grow and improve Any other work as required including working alongside other departments to ensure successful delivery of projects Requirements: Surveying qualifications are essential. You will ensure that projects are completed to program, in budget, and to deadline. What's involved for the Façade Project Manager Review and approve package issued documentation, such as drawings, reports, technical queries, requests for information, safe system of works and risk assessments, etc. Collaborate with quantity surveyor / estimators for cost control. Day-to-day liaison with design team and specialist contractor team for all design, production, and installation matters. Carry out on-site inspections to assess project status, ensure quality of manufacturing and installation. Coordinate and monitor all site activities associated with the façade. Identify and implement corrective actions to meet deadlines. Produce programmes for the façade package fully coordinated with the overall project and key milestones.
