Project Engineer

My client is a Norwich based engineering company which specialises in the design, manufacture, supply and support of rotating electrical machines and associated equipment. Previous experience in an engineering manufacturer role is essential to be considered for this role

They have a requirement for a skilled and motivated Project Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will have previous experience in handling technical customer accounts in a manufacturing or engineering business. The individual should be self-motivated, flexible and have some mechanical engineering and logistics knowledge.

The successful applicant will be working as part of a small team and would be required to undertake the following tasks -

• Manage current projects and deliver on time, in budget.
• Coordinating service engineers
• Assist in the development of new business in the UK and overseas
• Liaise with the Engineering team across departments in the UK and the commercial office in China
• Liaising, negotiating and building relationships with suppliers and Customers worldwide
• Provide technical, commercial and logistics support as required
• Some Clerical/Admin tasks - raising purchase orders, invoices and shipping documents

A knowledge of Microsoft Office and Access software would be an advantage.

The successful applicant would also be required to travel overseas to visit customers and suppliers.

A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred but not essential for candidates with relevant experience.

Training will be provided as required
