Your new role
We're looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Surveyor to join our team, playing a key role in maintaining and improving the homes and communities. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified professional with a strong background in social housing to make a real difference in the lives of our customers.
As a Senior Surveyor, you'll take ownership of a varied and rewarding workload, including property inspections, project management, and contractor supervision. You'll make sure our customers' wellbeing remains at the heart of everything we do and they continue to receive a service second to none - it's our priority that they're supported throughout their tenancy and their homes remain safe, well-maintained, meet regulatory standards and managed to the highest standard.
You'll have the confidence and assertiveness to engage with customers, sometimes managing difficult conversations, and using your excellent people skills to resolve any issues relating to their tenancy. It's essential that you possess Chartered status (MRICS) and Degree in Building Surveying or related disciple.
You'll be joining a supportive, collaborative team where your expertise is valued and your voice is heard. We're looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills, a proactive mindset, and a genuine passion for delivering high-quality housing services.
You Have:
Chartered status (MRICS) • Degree in Building Surveying or related discipline • Proven experience in property surveying, asset management, or building consultancy • Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, construction standards, and health & safety legislation • Effective interpersonal skills, including teamwork, networking and negotiation skills with the ability to positively motivate all stakeholders, whilst building trusted relationships • A motivated and enthusiastic individual, who can work under pressure and prioritise workloads to deliver an outstanding service to the partnered departments • Possess a commercially astute approach with a focus on obtaining value for money. • Good understanding of the usual Microsoft Office software as well as an appreciation of the opportunities presented by software designed specifically for maintenance management. • Full driving licence and access to own transport with appropriate business insurance, or ability to travel in a timely and efficient manner to attend meetings in locations not easily accessed by public transport
