Job Description
Portfolio Procurement has been engaged by our leading Lancashire based client to recruit for a Senior Buyer.
Main Duties:
- Lead the procurement of goods and materials to ensure sufficient stock holding is maintained
- Manage new and existing supplier relationships
- Negotiate with suppliers to ensure optimal pricing
- Identify, quantify and onboarding of new suppliers
- Work closely with internal teams to turn demand plans into purchasing priorities
- Manage the end-to-end process of purchasing
- Manage develop and mentor a small team
Experience and Skills required:
- Previous experience of at least Senior Buyer/Category Manager level
- Commercially astute and aware
- Previous experience mentoring a team
- Good IT, literacy, and numerical and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
