Responsibilities
- Assemble products and components with accuracy and efficiency, following detailed instructions and technical drawings.
- Perform quality checks at various stages of the assembly process to ensure products meet required specifications.
- Use tools and equipment safely to carry out assembly tasks, ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols.
- Report issues, defects, or inconsistencies promptly to ensure continuous improvement in the production process.
- Collaborate with colleagues and team leaders to meet daily production targets.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to support a safe and efficient working environment.
- Actively contribute to team discussions and feedback sessions to improve assembly techniques and product quality.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure precision in all assembly tasks.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- A proactive and team-oriented mindset.
Desirable:
- Proven experience in an assembly or manufacturing role.
- Familiarity with using specialized tools or machinery for assembly tasks.
- Basic understanding of quality control processes.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a workshop or production environment.
Day-to-day
A typical day as an Assembly Operative involves:
- Reporting to the production supervisor for task assignments and updates.
- Carefully assembling products and components using various tools and techniques.
- Conducting thorough quality checks to identify and address any potential issues in the assembly line.
- Collaborating with team members to meet production goals while ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Participating in team meetings to discuss progress, share ideas, and contribute to overall workflow improvements.
- Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness to promote a smooth and safe operational environment.
The shift times are 07:00 - 17:15 Monday to Thursday, the basic pay rate is £12.21/h.
