We're looking for a 1st Line Operational Risk Specialist to join our mission to build a best-in-class, customer-first culture. You'll play a key role in embedding risk control excellence across our Home Finance Distribution team-shaping training, monitoring performance, and ensuring regulatory confidence.
What You'll Be Doing:Partnering with the Head of Home Finance Distribution to drive a culture of quality and compliance.
Managing and monitoring our Training & Competence Scheme and mandatory learning programmes.
Assessing advice suitability and ensuring customer outcomes hit the mark.
Working closely with Compliance, Internal Audit, and External Auditors during reviews.
Identifying training gaps and recommending improvements to policies and processes.
Leading incident escalation, risk event reviews, and root cause analysis.
Providing clear, actionable performance metrics aligned with our control frameworks.
Reviewing customer and broker complaints to spot trends and influence change.
Strong knowledge of UK mortgage and home finance regulation.
Solid understanding of banking operations, risk frameworks, and the Three Lines of Defence model.
Confidence in navigating Conduct Risk, Consumer Duty, and group compliance policies.
Ideally, Competent Supervisor status or equivalent experience in a regulated environment.
