Salary: £32,455 - £45,260 per annum (depending on experience)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Lecturer in Special Educational Needs to join a dedicated team at a leading Further Education college in West London. This permanent role offers the opportunity to make a profound difference to the lives of young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Autism.
The successful candidate will work across Foundation Learning programmes, shaping inclusive and meaningful learning experiences that support students to achieve their individual goals. You will be part of a highly supportive environment where creativity, collaboration and innovation are encouraged to meet the diverse needs of learners.
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
• Deliver high-quality, person-centred teaching to learners with PMLD, SLD, and Autism.
• Design and implement individualised learning programmes tailored to each student.
• Collaborate with Learning Support Assistants, therapists and specialist teams to maximise learner progress.
• Contribute to curriculum design and ongoing development.
• Conduct assessments and contribute to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews.
• Enrich learning by leading trips, community-based projects and creative activities.
About You
We are looking for someone who brings:
• Experience of teaching or supporting learners with complex special educational needs.
• A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to gain one).
• A relevant degree or professional qualification.
• Knowledge of SEN approaches such as PECS, Makaton, or Team Teach (desirable).
• Excellent communication, organisational and teamwork skills.
• A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and learner-centred practice.
