Job Description

WTG Commissioning Engineer / Supervisor 66kV required for a Major Offshore Wind Farm Developer to be based in Denmark.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership in supervising contractor's activities, to ensure contractors are compliant with the HSE, Quality, Contractual and Employer's requirements.
  • Participate on relevant Construction and Commissioning meetings internally and externally.
  • Coordination of Energization, Testing and Commissioning activities and interfaces with packages, related contractors, TSO and various team members.
  • Participate and supervise on Commissioning and Quality activities including; Installation works, Site Acceptance Tests, Quality inspections and checks.
  • Report and follow up on Quality open points, findings and non-conformities.
  • Review and sign off on progress reports, Installation and Commissioning procedures, as-built documents and Quality reports.
  • Track and record related Commissioning activities.
  • Report progress updates and lookaheads.
  • Take the role as an Operation Controller in accordance with EN (phone number removed).
  • Support in preparing and Conducting Electrical Safety Trainings and inductions.
  • Assess Risks and Maintain a Safe System of work during Commissioning related activities REQUEST FOR SERVICE.
  • Apply Electrical Safety Precautions and Issue Electrical Permit to Work. Documents required when the system becomes under Electrical Safety Rules.
  • Communicate and coordinate Access restrictions and Safety from the system.
  • Prepare Switching schedules and perform switching activities.
  • Support in preparation of Energization activities and RAMS; including Pre-Energization, Energization and post-energization checks.
  • Perform Switching and Energization activities.
  • Monitor and supervise the systems via SCADA; to immediately report any alarms and abnormalities.
  • Comply with HSE requirements and immediate reporting of HSE observations, near misses, incidents & accidents.
  • Intervene when encountering unsafe practices, and support optimization of HSE culture and practices.
  • Capture, compile and register lessons learnt.
  • The Contractor is obliged to assist with training apprentices during the works, if the Employer deems this relevant.

Requirements

  • Valid EU passport or work Visa for Denmark / Netherlands.
  • GWO First Aid.
  • GWO Manual Handling.
  • GWO Sea Survival.
  • GWO Fire Awareness.
  • GWO Working at Heights.
  • Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) including CA-EBS.
  • Valid Offshore Medical certificates.
  • Basic computer operation skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and Electrical Diagrams.
  • Experience with wind industry safety practices.
  • Experience in the field of protection systems, SCADA and communication, automation technology and network operations REQUEST FOR SERVICE.
  • A good technical understanding of the components of Electrical Power Systems e.g. Switchgears, Transformers, HV substations, HV networks to efficiently resolve the complex problems that can be occur with these assets.
  • High level of fitness, being able to work in demanding physical and adverse weather and conditions.
  • Flexibility to meet business objectives.
  • Good verbal & written Communication skills - English is mandatory and preferably also in Danish.
  • Experience with electrical testing equipment (i.e. voltage testers, amp clamps, and various hand and power tools).
  • Knowledgeable and experienced working with and/in HV Control Room.
  • Knowledge and experience with Siemens HV SCADA system and GE HV SCADA system.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced working with EN (phone number removed).
  • Experience as Operation Controller (SAP) in accordance with EN (phone number removed).
  • Experience with Siemens 8VM1 switchgear and possession.
