Department: Production Finishing

Reporting to: Night Operations Manager Location: Dagenham

Shift Pattern: 3-on, 2-off / 2-on, 3-off / 2-on, 2-off / 3-on, 3-off

Hours: 42 hours per week (18:00pm 06:00am)

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Print Finisher to join our busy production environment on the night shift. You will be responsible for operating a wide range of finishing equipment to produce high-quality printed materials. The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work to tight deadlines, and hands-on technical knowledge of finishing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of finishing machinery including:
  • Cutting & Trimming Guillotines (Polar, Wohlenberg, or equivalent).
  • Folding Stahlfolders, MBO or similar.
  • Binding Perfect binding, PUR binding, Saddle-stitching
  • Laminating & Coating Encapsulation and digital lamination machines.
  • Die-cutting, Creasing & Perforating Cylinders or platen machines.
  • Check work against job specifications and conduct quality checks throughout the finishing process.
  • Ensure jobs are completed on time, in full, and ready for dispatch.
  • Assist with machine set-up, calibration, and routine maintenance.
  • Minimise waste by ensuring efficient use of materials and accurate setup.
  • Follow production schedules and prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Adhere to all health and safety standards, keeping the workspace safe and organised.
  • Support colleagues across the department with cross-training and flexible working as required.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Print Finisher in a high-volume print production environment.
  • Hands-on knowledge of finishing processes and machinery.
  • Strong eye for detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues.
  • Organised and able to manage workloads under pressure.
  • Flexible and team-oriented approach.
