Department: Production Finishing
Reporting to: Night Operations Manager Location: Dagenham
Shift Pattern: 3-on, 2-off / 2-on, 3-off / 2-on, 2-off / 3-on, 3-off
Hours: 42 hours per week (18:00pm 06:00am)
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Print Finisher to join our busy production environment on the night shift. You will be responsible for operating a wide range of finishing equipment to produce high-quality printed materials. The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work to tight deadlines, and hands-on technical knowledge of finishing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of finishing machinery including:
- Cutting & Trimming Guillotines (Polar, Wohlenberg, or equivalent).
- Folding Stahlfolders, MBO or similar.
- Binding Perfect binding, PUR binding, Saddle-stitching
- Laminating & Coating Encapsulation and digital lamination machines.
- Die-cutting, Creasing & Perforating Cylinders or platen machines.
- Check work against job specifications and conduct quality checks throughout the finishing process.
- Ensure jobs are completed on time, in full, and ready for dispatch.
- Assist with machine set-up, calibration, and routine maintenance.
- Minimise waste by ensuring efficient use of materials and accurate setup.
- Follow production schedules and prioritise workloads effectively.
- Adhere to all health and safety standards, keeping the workspace safe and organised.
- Support colleagues across the department with cross-training and flexible working as required.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Print Finisher in a high-volume print production environment.
- Hands-on knowledge of finishing processes and machinery.
- Strong eye for detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues.
- Organised and able to manage workloads under pressure.
- Flexible and team-oriented approach.
