Salary: £20,947 - £22,577 per annum (equivalent to £24,107 - £25,983 full-year)

About the Role
We are recruiting for a skilled and dedicated Communication Support Worker (CSW) with strong British Sign Language (BSL) skills to join a well-established Further Education college in Cambridgeshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about promoting accessibility and inclusion for Deaf and hard-of-hearing learners. You will work closely with students and teaching staff to ensure that all learners can participate fully in their studies and achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide communication support for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students across a range of vocational and academic subjects.
• Facilitate access to learning through BSL, note-taking or lip-speaking, as appropriate.
• Collaborate with lecturers and support staff to adapt materials and teaching approaches.
• Encourage learner independence, confidence, and engagement in college life.
• Maintain accurate records of support provided and student progress.
About You
You will be an enthusiastic and compassionate individual who enjoys supporting young people and helping them succeed.
Essential requirements:
• BSL Level 3 qualification (or equivalent proficiency).
• Experience of working with the Deaf community or supporting Deaf learners.
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade C / 4 or above.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
Desirable:
• A recognised Communication Support Worker qualification.
• Previous experience in a Further Education or SEND environment.
