Student Support & SEND Lead

Salary: 28,892 - 31,242 per annum
Location: Chatham area
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time (40 hours per week)

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Student Support & SEND Lead to champion inclusive education and ensure every learner receives the guidance, care, and support they need to achieve their potential.

Role Responsibilities

Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead within the centre, promoting a culture of safety and vigilance.
Lead on EHCP reviews, ensuring tailored and effective SEND support for all learners.
Collaborate with Programme Leaders, Local Authorities, families, and external professionals to coordinate student support.
Line manage Learning Support Assistants, fostering a nurturing and inclusive team culture.
Develop and implement strategies that empower students to re-engage with learning and achieve positive outcomes.

Essential Requirements

Proven experience working within safeguarding, SEND, or pastoral support roles in an educational setting.
A strong understanding of EHCP processes and multi-agency collaboration.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with students, staff, and external partners.
Experience leading or supporting staff within a student-facing environment.
Commitment to promoting inclusion, equality, and the belief that education transforms lives.
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain).
