Based: City of London Talbot Court / Remote

Rate: £20.00 umb

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Temp for 3 months

Our client, a specialist LGBT+ anti-abuse charity, is looking for a temporary Duty Worker to join their team. The Duty Worker will provide crisis intervention and referral management across all specialisms, with a focus on Domestic Abuse and Trans and Non-Binary (TNBI) queues.

Synopsis of duties:

  • Triage and manage new referrals coming into the service, ensuring timely allocation to queues/advocates and initial support.
  • Act as the first point of contact for new referrals, providing short-term crisis intervention and initial needs/risk assessments.
  • Provide short-term support to clients with safety planning, information, and advocacy on housing, legal remedies, welfare, and health.
  • Manage a busy triage workload with competing priorities, balancing urgent referrals and crisis work.
  • Ensure effective signposting and referrals to specialist services, including MARAC and Social Care, where required.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in triage, crisis intervention, and supporting survivors of domestic abuse and/or other forms of abuse.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and safety planning.
  • Proven ability to manage high referral volumes and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced duty function.
  • Commitment to inclusive, by and for services and understanding of LGBT+ survivors' needs and barriers they may face.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team.
  • Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months or on the update service
