Humanities Teacher - Secondary School January 2026 Start
Location: Devizes, Wiltshire
Contract: Full-time, Temporary (2 Terms)
Salary: MPS/UPS (Dependent on Experience)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a passionate and versatile Humanities Teacher to join a welcoming and well-resourced secondary school in Devizes. Starting in January 2026, this two-term role is ideal for a teacher who enjoys delivering engaging lessons across subjects such as History, Geography, and Religious Education in a school that values both academic achievement and staff wellbeing.

About the Role
You'll be teaching a mix of Humanities subjects across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop critical thinking, cultural awareness, and a deeper understanding of the world around them. The school offers a broad and engaging curriculum and supports innovative teaching approaches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Humanities subjects (History, Geography, RE) across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons
  • Encourage analytical thinking, discussion, and independent learning
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and enrichment activities
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and academic progress
  • Foster a positive and respectful classroom environment

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Strong subject knowledge across the Humanities disciplines
  • Experience teaching up to GCSE level
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A passion for education and student engagement
  • A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
