Hgv Class 1 Driver

IMH Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our client's logistics team based in Birmingham.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods. This role requires a commitment to delivering high-quality service while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies.

There is on average 3 drops per shift. These include Nationwide delivery routes (from Blackpool to North London).

Duties:

• Provide safe, efficient, and customer-focused delivery and collection services.
• Complete delivery documentation and electronic PODs accurately in real time.
• Carry out collections and deliveries as per the transport office plan and within agreed timescales.
• Ensure load security before moving any goods.
• Follow refuelling and end-of-shift procedures.
• Report any accidents, incidents, or collisions in line with company policy.
• Always comply with Health & Safety requirements.

Experience

• Valid Class 1 LGV Driver Licence (must be held for at least 2 years).
• Maximum of 3 penalty points accepted on licence.
• Up-to-date Driver CPC (DQC).
• Previous professional driving experience.
• Good geographical knowledge across the UK.
• Ability to follow operational, legal, and H&S procedures.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Experience in securing loads within vehicles and trailers.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Hours & Pay:

• Monday - Friday but may include Saturday working.
• Shift times can start from 5am-6am in a morning and will be 8-9 hour day shifts depending on delivery routes.
• A minimum of 40 hours per week.
• £18.66 Per Hour.
• There is an overtime rate of £21.81 per hour for hours worked over 40 hours per week.
