Job Purpose

We're looking for a dual-skilled field service engineer-someone who brings solid Instrumentation expertise and a second core skill such in Electrical.

This is a hands-on role in our Warrington production team, where you'll be working in a fast-paced, modern environment maintaining and improving critical water assets. You'll need to be confident across both disciplines, ready to tackle a wide range of maintenance tasks and contribute to continuous improvement across the site.

You'll be responsible for delivering both proactive planned maintenance and responsive support across your area of expertise, helping us meet key compliance and environmental standards. If you're bringing one core skill to us you'll start on a salary of £38,462, but if you've got both (Instrumentation and Electrical) disciplines, you'll earn £44,320.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Implement an efficient Instrumentation maintenance and installation service.
  • Analyse faults, rectify and ensure correct Instrumentation and systems-based equipment.
  • Perform planned and proactive maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety regulations and internal company policies
  • Maintain required financial control of a pre-defined budgets.
  • Provide reliable, accurate and complete asset performance and repair information for entry into corporate systems.
  • Analyse and recommend solutions to recurring maintenance problems.

Technical Skills & Experience

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • A valid driving licence
  • The ability to work in a team but also alone, be resilient, self-motivated, with strong problem solving skills and possess the required technical competence
  • Able and willing to diversify into specialised areas of maintenance, as required, such as but not limited to chlorine gas systems and high voltage installations
  • Diagnostic, organisational, planning, communication and computer skills
  • Industry Experience
  • Experience of PLC, HMI and SCADA systems and associated networks to perform fault diagnostics, assist with disaster recovery and small system modifications

Desirable:

  • Ability to maintain the necessary skills, competence, and up-to-date knowledge in all relevant areas throughout your career.
  • Where appropriate, possess a sound working knowledge of Simocode, Profibus and similar industrial technology systems.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you must be a time served apprentice or equivalent, supported with academic qualifications ideally to HNC or minimum ONC or equivalent in an Instrumentation technical area.

A desire to work towards flexi skilling leading to an accredited qualification or standard that is relevant to your role is preferred.
