Job Description

OSS Platform Manager needed for a Major Offshore Wind developer in Poland.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the on-site focal point for all OSS topside installation, outfitting, and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality, and HSE standards.
  • Review and comment on OSS equipment installation and outfitting documentation in coordination with the client's engineering and construction teams.
  • Conduct platform familiarization and ensure all personnel onboard follow approved offshore procedures and safety expectations.
  • Oversee and coordinate supplier and contractor activities, ensuring timely delivery, quality compliance, and resolution of technical queries.
  • Lead regular inspections, area walks, and progress reviews; identify and report any non-conformances or deviations.
  • Review and validate contractor daily and weekly progress reports, ensuring accurate tracking of manpower, progress, and test status.
  • Coordinate OSS interfaces with other project packages (HV E&I, systems, auxiliaries, and design) to maintain alignment across disciplines.
  • Manage daily operations including work scheduling, shift handovers, and offshore resource coordination.
  • Liaise closely with the Marine Coordination Centre (MCC) to plan vessel access, personnel transfers, and manage SIMOPS and exclusion zones.
  • Support onshore management with readiness reviews, milestone acceptances, and progress reporting against schedule and risk parameters.
  • Lead and document daily and weekly site progress meetings; ensure safety and quality are embedded in all site activities.
  • Provide regular reports via the Quality Inspection Tool (e.g., LAUTEC), covering HSE observations, ongoing works, manpower, weather, and marine operations.
  • Participate in walkdowns, readiness verifications, and mechanical completion/commissioning milestones.
  • Coordinate with commissioning and HSE teams prior to high-voltage energization to confirm readiness and procedural compliance.
  • Maintain clear communication and interface logs with contractors, suppliers, the MCC, and other offshore assets.
  • Lead by example, promoting a proactive safety culture and adherence to Employer HSE and quality expectations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in offshore construction, commissioning, or installation management, preferably within offshore substations (OSS) or similar complex marine assets.
  • Strong understanding of offshore installation, outfitting, and commissioning activities, with ability to oversee multi-disciplinary scopes (E&I, mechanical, structural, HVAC, etc.).
  • Familiarity with offshore safety standards, quality control processes, and marine coordination procedures.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple contractors and suppliers, ensuring safe and efficient execution of works.
  • Demonstrated experience in offshore site leadership, conducting inspections, progress reviews, and managing interfaces with other packages or vessels.
  • Good understanding of SIMOPS management, permit-to-work systems, and offshore construction reporting tools (e.g., LAUTEC or similar).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to represent the Employer's interests on site.
  • Strong awareness of HSE principles and ability to promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Comfortable working in a rotational offshore environment and coordinating with onshore project management teams.
  • Relevant technical or engineering background (e.g. Electrical, Mechanical, Marine, or Civil) preferred.
  • Valid GWO certification (minimum required).
  • Must have full EU working rights (no visa sponsorship available).
  • Offshore medical and survival certificates in date (preferred).
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken); Polish language skills would be an advantage.
