Software Engineer (Robotics & Autonomous Systems R&D)
Newcastle upon Tyne - hybrid - 3x per week - relocation package included - UK Citizens ONLY

Electus Recruitment are seeking an expert Software Engineer to join the Research & Development arm of a world-leading, globally recognised defence robotics engineering firm in Newcastle.

The Mission: Shaping Future Autonomy
You will be embedded within a dedicated R&D team, taking control of the full project lifecycle:
  • Design and validate novel RAS software architecture and control systems.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and scalable software (C/C++ and Python) for real-time applications.
  • Integrate software with complex hardware and electronics components.
  • Travel internationally for customer field trials to test your systems in live environments.
Essential Criteria
To be considered for this mission-critical role, you'll need:
  • Proven experience developing real-time software in a Linux environment.
  • Strong competency in C/C++ or Python programming.
  • A basic understanding of electronics and ability to interpret schematics.
  • Mandatory: You must hold UK Citizenship and be willing to obtain SC Security Clearance.
