About the RoleA welcoming and inclusive primary school in Greenwich is seeking a qualified BSL Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team from 3rd November. This rewarding role involves providing tailored one-to-one and small group support to pupils with hearing impairments, helping them to fully access learning and participate in school life.
The successful BSL Teaching Assistant will play a key role in supporting communication, building confidence, and ensuring pupils thrive in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide one-to-one and small group support to pupils using British Sign Language (BSL).
Assist in delivering lessons and activities in partnership with the class teacher.
Adapt materials and resources to meet the communication needs of pupils.
Promote inclusion and engagement in classroom and social settings.
Liaise with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support progress.
BSL Qualification - Level 2 or above (essential).
Experience supporting children or young people with hearing impairments.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, positive, and proactive approach to supporting learning.
Understanding of safeguarding and SEN best practices.
