The Role
As a Registered Nurse in this dermatology service, you'll deliver high-quality, patient-centred care and support a variety of skin care and aesthetic procedures. You'll be involved in phlebotomy, wound care, patient education, and assisting consultants with minor procedures - ensuring every patient receives safe, compassionate, and professional treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform phlebotomy and assist with minor dermatological procedures (e.g., biopsies, cryotherapy, patch testing, wound care).
- Support dermatologists and consultants in both medical and aesthetic treatments.
- Provide clear pre- and post-treatment education to patients, ensuring comfort and understanding.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with NMC and clinic standards.
- Promote a positive and empathetic patient experience, maintaining dignity and confidentiality at all times.
- Contribute to the efficient daily operations of the clinic, including stock control and maintaining treatment areas.
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
About You
Essential:
- Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration (Band 5 equivalent).
- Competent in phlebotomy (certified or with recent practical experience).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in dermatology, plastics, or aesthetic nursing.
- Knowledge of wound management and skin lesion assessment.
- Experience in private healthcare or outpatient clinic settings.
