Engineering Shift Team Leader

Location: Tewkesbury
Shift Pattern:

  • Week 1: Monday Saturday, 06 00
  • Week 2: Monday Friday, 13 45

Salary: Up to £45,000 + Plenty of Overtime

We re now seeking an experienced Engineering Shift Team Leader to support and guide the site s Engineering team, ensuring smooth production performance and the highest standards of safety and reliability.

The Opportunity

This hands-on leadership role involves overseeing a team of Engineers across shifts within a fast-paced production and distribution environment. Working closely with the Engineering Manager, you ll provide on-the-floor technical support, coordinate maintenance activity, and resolve complex electrical and mechanical faults to keep production running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of Engineers across rotating shifts
  • Plan, coordinate and carry out preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues on high-speed automated machinery
  • Support fault-finding, equipment testing, and breakdown response
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote safe working practices
  • Mentor Apprentices and support team training and development
  • Deputise for the Engineering Manager and provide holiday or shift cover where required
  • Participate in the engineering breakdown call-out rota

About You

Electrically-biased, time-served apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
Strong background working with high-speed automated machinery (ideally within FMCG or manufacturing)
Excellent electrical fault-finding and diagnostic ability
Proven supervisory or team-leading experience
Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to manage priorities under pressure
Clear communicator and collaborative team player
Flexible to work rotating shifts and occasional overtime
