Responsibilities:As a Library Assistant, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our readers enjoy a seamless library experience. Your key responsibilities will include:
Acknowledging readers and assisting with book issuing and dischargingHandling monetary transactions and providing changePerforming routine clerical duties like shelving, sorting, and repairing booksMaintaining a tidy library counter and overall cleanlinessConducting bibliographical tasks and using the library catalogueAssisting with reader enquiries, with ongoing training provided
Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
Excellent customer service skillsBasic money handling experienceFamiliarity with clerical duties and administrative supportCommitment to data protection complianceStrong communication skillsAbility to work effectively as part of a team
Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
Previous experience in a library settingKnowledge of bibliographical resources and cataloguingFamiliarity with health and safety policiesInterest in ongoing professional development
