An exciting opportunity is available for a project coordinator to join the UK Global Program Management Group, a dynamic and customer-focused team within a leading global manufacturer. This fast-paced team supports a growing portfolio of over 50 internal and external project activities.
This is a role for a seasoned project management professional committed to delivering programs on-time, within budget, and to the required quality targets. You will be responsible for improving the effectiveness of project teams by applying professionally accepted project management methods, techniques, and tools.
Contract: 12 months
Pay Rate: 24- 26 per hour
Location: Peterborough, UK
Hours: 08:30-16:45 Monday-Thursday, 08:30-16:15 Friday
Support moderate to complex projects with limited supervision.
Facilitate chartering sessions, develop and validate network diagrams, and lead task integration sessions.
Develop and produce detailed program and project management schedules using Microsoft Project.
Work with various functional areas to develop a detailed work breakdown structure (WBS) and translate it into credible project plans.
Coordinate and support program control meetings; analyse data from schedule updates, explain the consequences of changes, and recommend actions to resolve schedule problems.
Create and maintain key project documentation, including issues/action logs, risk registers/FMEAs, scope change requests, and program cost tracking.
Provide administrative planning and follow-up for program team, steering committee, and governance review meetings.
Train other Program Coordinators and project teams in program management processes and software.
May be required to create report packages and communicate program status.
A college or university degree, OR progressively responsible job-related experience in Program Coordination, IT, Engineering, or Project Management.
Proven experience with project management concepts, including project charters, scheduling, planning projects, and successful on-time delivery.
Strong project management skills, indirect leadership skills, and excellent communication skills.
The ability to multitask effectively, combined with strong analytical and organisational skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills, required to deal with sensitive issues or influence others.
Extensive knowledge of project management software (MS Project experience desirable), MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and Web Publishing tools.
Experience with project resource loading and forecasts, cost loading and forecasts, scope management, and risk management.
A recognised Project Management qualification such as Prince 2, PMP, or equivalent.
Previous Six Sigma experience.
Strong team leadership and adaptive communication skills.
This position may require up to 10-15% travel to other UK facilities.
