School Caretaker
South London
18 - 20 per hour Full-time 8:00am - 4:00pm Long-term
Remedy Education are looking for a reliable and hardworking Caretaker to join a welcoming and supportive school in South London.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the school site is safe, clean, and well-maintained. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with good practical skills and a strong work ethic who takes pride in keeping a school environment running smoothly.
The role:
Open and close the school premises daily (8am - 4pm)
Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and basic DIY tasks
Ensure the school grounds and buildings are safe, secure, and tidy
Monitor heating, lighting, and alarm systems
Liaise with contractors and report any maintenance issues to senior staff
Support with setting up rooms for school events and activities
Maintain health and safety standards across the site
The ideal candidate will:
Have previous experience as a caretaker, site manager, or maintenance worker (preferably in a school setting)
Be practical, reliable, and organised with a proactive approach to work
Have good communication skills and the ability to work independently
Hold (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS certificate
Be available for full-time hours (8am - 4pm)
