About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our Paediatric and Neonatal team on a fixed-term contract basis. You'll work across both a general paediatric ward (9 beds) and a dedicated Neonatal Unit (3 cots), providing high-quality, family-centred care to babies, children, and young people from birth to 18 years.
This rotational post offers the chance to broaden your paediatric and neonatal nursing experience, supported by senior nurses and a Practice Development Lead. You'll be part of a small, dynamic team that values collaboration, education, and excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care for children and neonates.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care in partnership with families.
Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve the best outcomes.
Support and educate parents/guardians in caring for their child or baby.
Participate in supervision, training, and ongoing professional development.
Contribute to the learning and development of junior and student nurses.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
A registered Children's Nurse (RN Child / RSCN) with NMC registration.
Passionate about providing holistic, compassionate care to babies, children, and young people.
Calm under pressure, with strong communication and decision-making skills.
A true team player who values support, reflection, and continuous learning.
Flexible to work a full range of shifts, including nights and weekends.
Desirable: EPLS qualification and experience in neonatal or paediatric acute care.
