Joining our team will provide you with an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience, see your projects built and further your professional career. Based in the historic city of Winchester, we are confident you will find Hampshire a great place to live and work.

What you'll do:

The purpose of the role is to lead the design and delivery of construction projects, providing a service of the highest quality; and to deliver successful projects safely, on time, on budget and with good client feedback.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide an architectural service that is high quality, creative and effective, planning, designing, and delivering successful projects safely, on time and budget, with good client feedback.
  • Be responsible for the leadership and management of projects typically ranging from £1 to £5 million, including contract administration.
  • Lead, coordinate and inspire multi-disciplinary design teams to achieve the efficient and effective delivery of projects and programmes, aligning their progress at all stages and meeting financial fee targets.
  • Exercise a balance of design, construction technology and project management to create and deliver appropriate architecture that achieves the client's aims, offers best value, and is fit for purpose.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, users and other stakeholders - sometimes in sensitive and/or challenging situations, to build and maintain positive and productive relationships and achieve successful outcomes.
  • Demonstrate and develop a high level of competence, technical and specialist knowledge.
  • Support the development of design and construction best practice across Property Services, through your own commitment, initiative and example.

What we're looking for:

We're seeking registered Architects with excellent design skills and proven experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You should have a thorough understanding of statutory requirements such as Health and Safety and Building Regulations, alongside strong knowledge of construction methods and materials.

Confident communication and presentation skills are essential, with the ability to influence and make sound judgements in complex situations. Highly motivated and organised, you'll demonstrate resilience, strong customer focus, and role-model our values.

Experience as a Principal Designer under CDM, together with proficiency in Building Information Modelling (BIM), Revit and AutoCAD is essential.
