Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an Aseptic Pharmacy Technician at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. You will be based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital within the Technical Services pharmacy unit. Your will be responsible for organising and supervising the work of pharmacy technicians and support staff, deputising for the Band 6 Pharmacy Technician, and supporting the training and development of pharmacy colleagues, including Trainee and Rotational Pharmacists. You will also supervise non-pharmacy personnel, such as cleaners, estates staff, and maintenance contractors, while they work within the aseptic unit, ensuring compliance with all safety and quality standards. You may be required to work across the pharmacy unit as needed to support the service.
Main duties of the job
As an Aseptic Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for the safe and accurate preparation and dispensing of cytotoxic, aseptic, and parenteral nutrition products for individual patients, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). You will manage the day-to-day running of the local unlicensed aseptic unit, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), National Guidelines, COSHH, and all relevant Trust policies and SOPs. You will also contribute to the development of pharmaceutical services and promote the highest standards of professional practice, while adhering to the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) standards for Pharmacy Professionals or the Science Council Standards for Registered Science Technicians.
