An opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Manager to join our client, a well-established Chemical Manufacturer based in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a pivotal role within a dynamic manufacturing environment, where you will be responsible for driving maintenance across a busy site. The role plays a key part in ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and day-to-day performance.
Job details:
- Champion health, safety, and environmental standards across the maintenance team, promoting continuous improvement and best practice initiatives.
- Implement skills development programmes tailored to team requirements.
- Oversee predictive and preventive maintenance strategies, ensuring cost-effective delivery without compromising safety or quality standards.
- Enhance plant reliability through analysis of maintenance data and application of improvement methodologies and inspection techniques.
- Maintain accurate equipment records, maintenance histories, and documentation within relevant systems.
- Monitor and analyse departmental KPIs to identify performance improvement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with management systems, change control processes, procurement procedures, and technical standards.
- Supervise maintenance projects and contractor activities, ensuring safe, efficient delivery to schedule.
- Drive total productive maintenance initiatives within the department.
- Identify and implement technical improvements including energy-saving projects, parts strategies, and vendor/contractor optimisation.
- Ensure all maintenance information is accurately and promptly updated and maintained in SAP.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Apprentice trained with a recognised engineering qualification in Mechanical Engineering (HNC/HND - essential).
- Minimum of 5 years experience working within Chemical, Petrochemical or Oil + Gas (Essential).
- Strong working knowledge of SAP (Essential).
- The ability to coach and encourage your team, set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance the team s performance.
What s on offer:
- Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 (DOE)
- Shift: Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm
