Volunteering Officer Hybrid Starting ASAP West London Full-time 6-month Contract



Role Profile
We are seeking an organised, people focused Volunteering Officer to support two major hospital sites in West London. This role plays a key part in coordinating and supporting a large, diverse volunteering community, making a real difference to staff, patients, and the wider hospital environment.This is a short-term fixed term role to cover maternity leave, with full, tailored training provided and a structured handover period.

About the Role
As the Volunteering Officer, you will support the full volunteer journey-from initial enquiries through onboarding, training, and ongoing engagement. You will work closely with colleagues across the volunteering department and spend 3-4 days per week on site, ensuring volunteers feel informed, supported, and valued.
Key responsibilities include

  • Managing volunteer enquiries, applications, DBS checks, references, and ID passes
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of volunteer inductions, training sessions, and events
  • Providing day to day pastoral support and check-ins with volunteers
  • Maintaining accurate records, databases, and administrative standards
  • Working across two hospital sites to build strong relationships with volunteers and staff

About YouWe are looking for someone who is:
  • Experienced in working with volunteers or within the charity/community sector
  • Highly organised with excellent administrative skills
  • A confident communicator, comfortable engaging with a wide range of people
  • Adaptable, proactive, and supportive in a fast-paced environment
  • Open to occasional evening commitments (time off in lieu provided)

  • Contract: Short-term, fixed-term maternity cover
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Hours: 35 per week, Monday-Friday
    • Flexibility between 08:00-18:00
  • Location: On-site - White City
  • Interview Date: Wednesday 7 January
