Senior GCP Platform Engineer - 12 Month Contract (Inside IR35) - Hybrid

This programme is delivering a large-scale, enterprise Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment and requires a senior GCP Platform Engineer to help design, build and operate a secure, scalable and highly available cloud platform. You will work at an architectural level, ensuring cloud infrastructure is delivered using Infrastructure as Code and best-in-class DevOps and observability practices.

You will be responsible for building and evolving GCP landing zones, enabling teams to deploy services safely and consistently, and ensuring the platform is fully monitored, automated and production-ready.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement GCP landing zones and core platform services
• Architect secure, scalable GCP environments aligned to best practices
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Build reusable Terraform modules and deployment patterns
• Implement monitoring, logging and observability across GCP environments
• Integrate GCP Cloud Monitoring, logging and alerting solutions
• Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments
• Collaborate with architects, security and engineering teams
• Ensure environments meet operational, security and compliance standards
• Create technical documentation, runbooks and platform standards

What You Will Ideally Bring:

• Strong hands-on experience engineering solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience operating at a cloud architecture or senior platform level
• Proven expertise with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
• Strong background in monitoring, observability and cloud operations
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Solid understanding of networking, IAM, security and governance in GCP
• Background working in enterprise or large-scale cloud environments
• GCP Certifications such as Professional Cloud Architect, DevOps Engineer or Associate Cloud Engineer

Contract Details

• Duration: Initial 12 months with strong extension potential
• Day Rate: £600 per day (Inside IR35)
• Location: London (1 day per week on site)
• Start Date: ASAP (before March 2026)
