C# Software Engineer

Location: Basildon (20% onsite - You will get an introduction to the project for 3-4 weeks, then hybrid working with some on site to access test hardware)

Duration: 3 month initial contract

Rate: 64ph UMB (Inside IR35)

Role details:

Our client, a leading organisation in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in Basildon. This role involves initial onsite work for 3-4 weeks to introduce you to the project, followed by hybrid working with some on-site attendance to access test hardware.

• Participate in requirements capture, design, verification and validation, and compliance processes
• Develop software compliant to DO-178C level D standards
• Utilise the Serena Dimensions CM tool for software configuration management
• Develop applications using MS Visual Studio with C#
• Create software that utilises the Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) as part of the .NET Framework
• Develop Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) C# GUI applications
• Understand and work with existing code with limited documentation
• Develop embedded software within formal constraints and to meet user expectations
• Collaborate using iterative development lifecycles, such as tailored Agile
• Use tools associated with iterative development (Jira / DevOps)

• Experience with software development processes and creating design review presentations
• Proficiency in using MS Visual Studio with C#
• Experience with the Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)
• Understanding of embedded development tools and approaches
• Familiarity with iterative development lifecycles and associated tools

Due to the nature of the role, candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.
