The business is family-owned, close-knit, and deliberately small, allowing for autonomy, direct client ownership, and real influence. The leadership team is hands-on but not intrusive, and the firm prides itself on long-term client relationships rather than high-volume, templated work.

Role Summary:

This role is designed for someone who wants ownership, responsibility, and a long-term career within a smaller brokerage. You'll manage and grow an existing SME portfolio while contributing to new business, sharing commission on self-generated opportunities. The focus is on relationship management, practical broking, and being trusted to just get on with the job.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage an SME commercial portfolio: build trusted, long-term client relationships

• Handle renewals, mid-term adjustments, and broking activity: full ownership of the client lifecycle

• Generate and develop new business opportunities: benefit from shared commission

• Liaise with insurers and internal colleagues: keep service efficient and personal

• Support quieter periods with claims or portfolio reviews: add value beyond renewals

Requirements:

• Experience in a commercial insurance account handling or account management role

• Comfortable managing SME clients, including property owners and packaged risks

• Strong communicator who builds rapport easily and works well in a small team

• Able to work independently without close supervision.
