Job Description

Our client is a leading UK main contractor specialising in cladding remediation and fire protection works. Due to a strong order book and an expanding pipeline of secured and future projects, they are seeking an experienced Clerk of Works to drive quality, compliance, and technical excellence across a portfolio of national remediation schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake detailed site inspections to monitor progress, identify defects, and ensure works are delivered in accordance with technical specifications, approved details, and regulatory requirements
  • Champion quality assurance and inspection processes, producing clear and accurate reports covering health & safety, construction progress, non-conformances, defect resolution, and regulatory compliance
  • Work closely with Building Control bodies, ensuring inspections, approvals, and documentation are fully compliant with statutory requirements
  • Support and monitor compliance with the Building Safety Act, including PSR (Project Safety Regulator) Gateway submissions and approvals
  • Collaborate with project teams, consultants, and clients, providing clear, factual guidance to support compliance and best practice
  • Lead and contribute to progress and quality meetings, confidently influencing outcomes and ensuring adherence to building regulations and fire safety standards across live sites

Candidate Profile:

  • Extensive experience in fa ade remediation, external wall systems, and cladding works, with in-depth knowledge of UK building regulations and fire safety compliance
  • Demonstrable experience working with Building Control and managing PSR Gateway 1, 2, and 3 compliances on high-risk buildings
  • Proven ability to challenge construction activity constructively while maintaining strong, positive relationships with site teams and stakeholders
  • Track record of delivering high-quality outcomes and promoting collaborative, compliant project environments
  • Relevant professional membership preferred (MICWCI, AssocRICS or similar)
