VIQU have partnered with a well-established systems integrator delivering critical Protection & Control solutions across the UK Transmission and Distribution network. Operating in highly regulated environments, this organisation is known for its technical depth, long-term client relationships, and involvement in nationally significant energy projects.
This is a senior technical role where you'll take ownership of Protection & Control designs, acting as the technical authority across projects while working closely with clients, project managers, and delivery teams.
The role
Technical lead for Protection & Control systems across UK T&D projects
Design authority, ensuring compliance with client, regulatory, and industry standards
Development of SLDs, KLDs, system architecture and concept-level designs
Producing and reviewing schematics, layouts, calculations, and design documentation
Chairing design reviews and technical workshops
Supporting tendering, delivery, change control, and risk management
Site visits and technical input during implementation when required
What we're looking for
Strong experience in Protection & Control within UK Transmission & Distribution
Solid knowledge of IEC 61850 and substation communication protocols
Experience working with leading P&C vendors
Understanding of cyber security considerations in P&C system design
Confident technical leader with strong stakeholder communication skills
Engineering degree (or equivalent experience)
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
